Abandoned development of 23 Caton Place

Well, I don't think anyone knows with certainty what is going on with the development of 23 Caton Place in Kensington.

But one thing is sure - the seemingly abandoned site is fast on its way to becoming Brooklyn's largest pigeon coop and waterfall exhibit (the sound after a rain storm is magnificent for hours).

We also know with certainty that (as of today) there exists a DOB Stop Work Order on the site.

Rumor has it that the bank pulled the funding, and there are mentions of the evil word hedgefund, but frankly I don't care too much what the reason is. I just want politicians and city agencies to stop approving irresponsible development projects like this one and the one across the street.

More photos of the dumping and the skeleton of a luxury building:

I would now consider this site to be "neglected", upgraded from my earlier opinion that it had been "abandoned".

They may as well just hang a sign outside that says, "Welcome, Squatters!"

thanks to the building department
that issues stop-work order
for every f------ complain.
next time the people in the neighborhood
should think twice befor calling the department, unless of course they like
to live with unfinish building for many years.
